Faith must be accompanied with actions. Faith without an active response is dead, or worthless. Actions without faith are worthless as well. If all i do is work, doing good deeds, feeding the homeless, advocating on behalf of the oppressed, raising money for the needy, running for a cause, what good is that if there is no faith. What am i doing it for? As she said, i am fulfilling a temporary need, or providing temporary aid that is transient, that will fade and be forgotten. I am going to be known as a "good person". But a lot of people are considered good people, people who do good, but for no reason. People aren't going to know who i serve unless i tell them who i serve. I don't want people to think that im a good person. I don't want them to see me. I want people to know that im a servant, and i want them to know the master that i serve. I want people to know the name of my master, that they name thank him for his goodness that is manifested in my life. "What good is it brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warm and well filled, without giving them the things needed for the body what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works and i will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one, you do well.Even the demons believe--and shudder... For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead." James 2:18-26
